Everybody wants to make movies. It's fun, glamorous, and lets you communicate your soul's dreams to the world. It's also harder than stapling Jell-O to the ceiling of a plummeting 747 while you have diarrhea, and oh yeah, your face is on fire. We're here to help.

The crew behind thesubstream spent way too much time in and way too much of our parents' money on film school, so you wouldn't have to. (Trust me, if you go you probably won't learn what you need to know, anyway).

Call it an on-line film school, call it the nexus of the new micro-budget filmmaking community, just don't call thesubstream late for dinner. Or an asshole, for that matter. We'll teach you what we've learned by screwing up, over and over. We'll tell you what movies are actually worth watching. (Hint: Persona by Ingmar Bergman is not one of them.) We'll hook you up with the books that are actually worth reading.
