CES News: Bond 50 on Blu Ray
Need something to watch on your new three-millimetre-thick LG OLED star trek future television from space that weighs 18 pounds and you can control by telling it what channel you want to watch and waving your hand around? You could do worse than the drool-inducing new "Bond 50" Blu Ray box set debuted today at CES in Vegas.
![]() Announced at a panel featuring directors John Glen, Michael Apted and Martin Campbell, (Octopussy, The World Is Not Enough, Casino Royale and others), the set of all 22 "official" Bond films marks the spy's golden anniversary in hi-def style. Unfortunately due to persistent licensing issues, it lacks Never Say Never Again - the 1983 indie Bond that featured the return of Connery and was released the same year Moore starred in Octopussy - or Peter Sellers' 1967 version of Casino Royale. To be a truly complete collection, you'll also have to buy the Blu Ray of the upcoming Bond film Skyfall next Christmas and glue it to the side of your Bond 50 box, which will look messy. Which is why I can never bring myself to buy these box sets, as impressive and handsome as they may be. Because of messiness issues, and autism.
