UPDATE: Holy Viral Spider-Man, Bat-Man!

The viral marketing for The Amazing Spider-Man has now kicked into high gear. If you'll recall, the URL for http://markofthespider-man.com/ was hidden in the latest trailer for the film. The website has updated somewhat and now includes city names and times to go along with the images of static. Are they feeds perhaps? In addition, there is also now a Mark of the Spider-Man twitter account, which tweets the coordinates of “Property of Peter Parker.” The cool thing is that some of these items have actually been found by Twitter users. What will we see next in this increasingly interesting viral marketing campaign?

ORIGINAL POST:

So, you remember that new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man that I was talking aboutI just learned that if you freeze the trailer at the 2:28 mark, the words “Mark of the Spider-Man” will (barely) appear in the lower left corner of the frame, written on one of the CGI webs:

If you are smart enough (or have good enough eyesight) to spot this and figure out it is a website URL, you would immediately head on over to http://www.markofthespider-man.com/. As of right now, the website features nothing but a Spider-Man symbol and six images of static.  However, I’m sure that if you keep checking this website, something should appear… eventually.
