I Love YouTube: Cybergoths

Have we all had the experience of trying, frustrated, to explain the ineffable coolness gap between ourselves as hip teensters with a skateboard and big pants and the right shoes and our European cousins, our foreign counterparts who had bad songs on their mix tapes and had weird pants and all kinds of messed up ideas about what hairdos were appropriate?

Whatever giant invisible membrane stretched across the Atlantic that took regular, you know, American pop music and transformed it into the Eurovision song contest somehow manages to transmute most of our cultural output into stuff that looks the similar, but is just somehow... much much lamer.

Thankfully, youtube allows us to speak truth to foreigners in video. To whit:

As a new father I can honestly say that I would rather my son tell me he was going out with a gang of wolfmen to throw rocks at cop cars than hear he was spending his time dressed like a mortal kombat dancing with his friend Hans in a parking garage:
