Man of Steel Teaser

While we eagerly await the final instalment of the C. Bale-period Batman series The Dark Knight Rises, there’s already word that a teaser for what could be the next major comic book movie franchise will be attaching its suction cups to DKR when it hits theatres on July 20.

According to Cosmic Book News, a one-minute teaser for Zack Snyder’s (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch) Man of Steel will accompany DKR’s theatrical run this summer, starting off a full year of marketing for the movie leading up to its release on June 14, 2013.

The Superman reboot will star Henry Cavill (Immortals, Stardust) as the man of steel himself, with Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as the Kents, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as supervillain General Zod and Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father (spoiler alert, we guess, but... come on now). Z. Snyder's been batting pretty mediocre for the past little while, delivering huge and thoroughly... competent? finished? extant? effects-aganzas one after the other. Can Supes' story—a notoriously hard-to-handle bit of comic book source material—be his breakthrough into nerd-hero territory?
