Teens 'n' Tweens: Harry Potter 7.2
We were lucky enough to accompany TnT blogger Queen Sister Amanda to the midnight-thirty screening of Harry Potter 7.2, an occasion garlanded with much screaming, freaking out, spazzing, crying and a lot of innapropriately dressed sexy Harry Potter costumes. Below, she lets us know what she thought.
thesubstream: So, how does it feel now that it's all over? Amanda: Hollow... empty... nothing to ever look forward to again. Just a big faaarrrrrt of air left in the Harry Potter section of my heart. Never again will I get to sit in the audience and be pissed of that they didn't include some crazy minute detail from the books that I am a complete weirdo for even knowing, much less expecting to see. Never again will sweet goofy Rupert Grint stand around awkwardly and deliver dumb lines to break the tension. No more weird squatty Dan Rad. It's all Voldemort dust in the wind now... . tss: That seems a little dramatic. Did you even like the movie? A: I don't know man! I wanted to, really badly! Like heart-burstingly really badly! But like egghhrrrrhhhhh blech nope no thanks nuh uh. Like, ok, it looked cool, and mostly all of the parts that were important were in there, and lotsa action and stuff, but it was kinda... heartless or something? I felt like they changed seemingly small details to make scenes look neato in 3-d vision but then the heaviness of some of the moments was just not there cause it was just WOOSH right on by or like DRAGON in your FACE! The whole thing was so ooh look at cool tough Harry on a tough guy mission to be a hero wizard dude, but I kinda... hate Harry Potter. Like everyone else is so much cooler and kinda the whole point of the story was that he wasn't extraordinary and only triumphed because of friendship! Teamwork! The parts I liked, I SUPER liked though. I was all chin wiggley glasses foggy weeping at certain parts so maybe I just need to see it again or something and just ignore all the Dan Rad stubble close ups. tss: I just figured out that Dan Rad is Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter. A: Duh. ![]() tss: What was your least favourite part? A: Ugh... the part of the final battle when Weasly mom yells "BITCH" at Bellatrix and it was supposed to be so great tough pissed off lady take down but like we didn't even see Bellatrix menacing at anyone before hand. So out of nowhere with the best line of the whole dang thing! Oh and I super didn't like how they were like oh by the way these guys are dead now with just a shot of them all dead on the floor. Which maybe was the point or something cause it's supposed to get Harry to the point where he'll surrender to You Know Who so maybe that was good I AM SO CONFUSED. I have too many feelings about this. tss: Was there stuff left out from the book? What was missing? A: Just all the stories about the other people! Like why Neville was important and like how Harry "passed the torch" or whatever to him. Cause he didn't just like KNOW that he should cut the snakes head off, Harry told him to. And the best part of the movie, with The Grey Lady ghost could have been SO MUCH COOLER because that story in the book is romantic and way bigger than like oh "it's a tiara and here now I've found it", BOOM ROASTED Voldemort! There was WAY too little of everyone else coming together to fight for the school and it was just way too Harrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy all up in my grill all the time. Where were the house elves?! Why make the best part of any of the books the shortest freaking movie?! tss: You seem mad. A: More like super annoyed, cause like why didn't they just make it how I wanted them to? Like I kinda wanna lie down and have a temper tantrum right now. It just wasn't... good enough. I'm exhausted even thinking about it. tss: OK, well enough about the movie. What's up with all the Sexxxy Girl Potters? A: Oh man, is it that weird thing that happens when super nerds all get together and the girl nerds go all slutty geek thing? Like aren't there a lot of sexxxy costumes at ComicCon what where all the dorks go? Maybe all the 11 year olds that grew up with the books are just at that point in their lives now where they wanna have their butts and boobs out while they play with wands and paint their faces? I have no clue. tss: What are all these kids gonna do now? A: Probably yell at me a lot, lol. tss: lol. A: I think I made a bunch on enemies with my online friends cause I said it sucked last night on the computer box and people typed some really mean things to me. I think I was cyberbullied. They are all gonna cyberbully me now. But probably they'll see it a few more times and talk about it a lot until someone tells them to cut it out with the Pottertalk already Janice! Then they'll just read the next book, which I'm sure is coming. It's probably coming right? Isn't there like some new Wizard Facebook or something? thesubstream thinks Amanda might be talking about this with her Wizard Facebook comment but we can't reach her for clarification.
