Teens 'n' Tweens: Jack and Jill

Last week we sent our begrudging Teens 'n' Tweens-beat Blog Queen Amanda to go see Adam Sandler's latest, Jack and Jill. Here, we found out what she thought about that idea. 

thesubstream: So, what did you see?

Amanda: Uhhh, Jack and Jill? Adam Sandler. Katie Holmes HOORAY!

tss: Lucky! What's the story?

A: Oh them twins! Jack is like... cool. A cool guy, with kids, and a hot wife. Jill is his twin sister - she's gross! Then some stuff happens and Adam Sandler goes all “fnerhagggh!!” and then his sister is super annoying and goes all “Neeghgherggghtttt”. They have a parrot that sounds like Adam Sandler too. Anyway, every year the sister Jill comes to visit her twin brother, and raises major heck in his life! They go to a movie, and basketball.



tss: How was it?

A: Well Al Pacino in the role of his life!! And then there was that funny part where “Jill” online dated. SO FUNNY. What a funny concept! A kid with pepper on his head! Ain’t nothing funnier than that! She crashed a Jet Ski! In a pool!

tss: Seems like most of the good parts were in the trailer. It was still good though?

A: I bet! It had some bad parts, too, like where Jill was too fat for a pony ride, and the pony's legs went straight out sideways - hello, that's impossible, duh... and the kid had a hamster on his ba-

tss: So the bad parts... they were in the trailer too.

A: Uhhh, yeah.

tss: Are you lying about seeing that Jack and Jill?

A: NO! Whatever, you always assume I’m lying. I totally had a note! A doctor told me to., um. I had cramps. I uh… But I have an A in this class!!

tss: Whatever. What did you see instead?

A: I saw Martha Marcy May Marlene. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?!

tss: Fine, let's talk about that instead. What's it about?

A: Sex cults. 

tss: Sounds great! I liked it at TIFF. Why did you want to see it in the first place, twenty-something Harry Potter fan?

A: Uhh cause Elizabeth Olsen is in it and if you didn’t know she’s really cool and pretty and is gonna be the next big thing for SURE. And also cause of sex cults. They’re kind of interesting. Like why do they happen? Who wants to garden while not wearing a bra and doing it with some creepy old dude forever? No wonder she ran away. 

tss: How was the Olson?

A: She was SO GOOD. Really pretty and good at being sad and confused and looking kind of stinky but not disgusting. She’s like super cool I think.  WAYY better than her sisters latest endeavor, “Beastly”... omg.

tss: Good for tweens?

A: Yeah if you are super mature and write really deep poetry and everyone you know in school is so behind you and you are all about things that no one as tortured as you would ever understand.
