Gear Guide: Fig Rigs!

If you'll recall, last time in The Film Lab the boys taught us a quick tip on keeping the ol' hands steady when shooting handheld with those unwieldy (yet gorgeous image-producing) DSLRs - cameras designed to sit on a tripod and take single photographs. This week on Gear Guide, Mike explains why DSLRs are so unsteady (it has to do with levers and fulcrums and teeter-totters) and shows off the super-cool Manfrotto Fig Rig that he picked up from Whites Interactive. This baby may not be as smooth as Steadicam, but it will take you pretty darn far in that direction in terms of stabilizing the DSLR. Your nausea-prone audience will thank you!
