Gear Guide > Gear Guide: Say Hello to the Jib Arm Gear Guide: Say Hello to the Jib ArmOver the last month or so here in the Film Lab we've been discussing DSLR stabilization which led to us picking up the super-cool Fig Rig from Whites Interactive. Simple to use, cool to look at, and definitely a bit more effective when it comes to stabilizing your DSLR footage. Today, we continue to explore new and cool ways to steady our footage by checking out the Jib Arm - a pretty standard piece of filmmaking gear that can give you nice, smooth, fluid motion when you need to swoop your camera up really high and then down really low, as well as side to side. I realize that you can't really use 'swoop' as a verb like that but it'll seem fitting when you see this thing in action... Either way, say hello to the Jib Arm! |
