The Fig Rig & Compact Lighting Packages - An Intro! | Gear GuideThe Toronto International Film Festival is but a distant memory, though we are still getting compliments on all the awesome footage we shot, both for our Midnight Madness coverage and interviews with directors like Don Coscarelli and Rob Stewart. But here's the thing - we had big, large help. Even though we've been at it for 5 years, shooting an event like TIFF is never easy! It's hectic and unpredictable and as a result, getting good looking footage can be difficult if you don't have the right gear.That's why this year we called up our friends at William F. White International and asked them for help. We needed some compact, portable lighting solutions and a quick and easy fig rig for our DSLR and the gear they gave us suited our needs perfectly. And here's the thing: if you're shooting pretty much any kind of low-budget documentary, you can use the very affordable, extremely portable kit we put together to turn yourself into a one-person strange-space person-lighting subway-riding camera and lights package on legs.
